Events for 2025

Storytelling in Cambridge is getting busy!  I'm excited about presenting a storytelling workshop to up and coming storytellers - or people who think they might like having a go at a story - next March

Stories Stories Everywhere!
Storytelling workshop with Marion Leeper
2.30-4.30 Sunday 30th March
the Museum of Cambridge
in the Enid Porter Room
Explore simple and fun ways to tell a story from the heart, paper-free, traditional, true, or improvised, in a friendly group of people.  A 2- hour session – or come early, look round the Museum and be inspired by the stories in every corner of their extraordinary collection!
It will be a fun and easy look at simple games and techniques to help get your storytelling ideas flowing, whether you’ve done a bit of storytelling or none at all, whether you want to tell a story on a stage, round the fire with a few friends, or to a bored child on a bus.

Price £15 or pay what you can, email marionleeper@gmail.com to register.

There's plenty of storytelling coming up for the spring

17th February 10.00-4.00 Cambridge Corn Exchange 150th Anniversary Community Open Day
I’ll be telling stories throughout the day at this family event to celebrate this amazing building in the heart of Cambridge, famously dismissed by the historian Pevsner as ‘very ugly’.  There will be loads of things to do and join in with throughout the day.

19th – 26th February The Festival of Stories: Talking Together in Cambridgeshire
The 4th Festival of Stories is organised by the wonderful organisation that is Talking Together in Cambridge.  For a week I’ll be scooting around the county, with sensory, join-in stories for family groups from babies to 5-year-olds.

Saturday 15th March, 10.30-11.30
Time for a story at Milton Road Library
Join me for another family storytime at Milton Road library, for stories that grow: expect flower pots, soil and of course some turnips. Organised by the Friends of Milton Road library, for children 7 and under and their families. All welcome, free!
Further sessions on: 12th April and 19th May

On Saturday 22nd March I’ll be telling March Hare stories in distinguished company in Ditchling, Sussex
On 27th April, closer to home, I’ll be exploring the stories hidden in Histon Road Cemetery, Cambridge
And on May 5th I’ll be telling stories at a Haverhill nature reserve, in the run up to:
30 May-1 June The East Anglian Storytelling Festival
Come and join us in the glorious grounds of the Food Museum in Stowmarket for a weekend of stories to celebrate the land.  Some of the best storytellers in the business will be there – along with some great music, wonderful food and this year glamping as well!
